sonnet iii

We’ve fought this fight for years to find
Whose nomenclature’s right.
For how our beverage is defined,
We rally, chug, and fight!
The Northern states are pop inclined…
The South gives soda favor.
A scholar of this fight will find,
The stubborn sides won’t waiver.
Though waïters bring them different drinks…
Each favors the same flavor.
And so they smile, they drink, they think,
Steadfast on what they savor.
And so the war will never stop,
‘Till everyone aggrees that they drink…
