Broken Boldness

I sit in darkness
Guilty of my sin.
Ashamed of my failure.
Knowing you are holy
I repent and prepare
To face the darkness
That my sin has caused.

And when I sit in darkness,
Afraid, yet not alone
I burn with shame
In the presence of your mercy.
I cling to your forgiveness
And approach your throne
With broken boldness.

  1. Have you read Micah 7:8-9 recently? They are very similar particularly in theme and even a bit in imagery. I think you changed this a bit since I saw it last; I like it a lot honey.

  2. I don’t know if I was reading that passage when I wrote this. I think I found the idea in a Piper book though and he may have been referring to this passage. I may have looked up this passage though. It was over a year ago so my memory is a little fuzzy on this one.
